I received a call about a very distressed man, who had lost his precious ring while lawnmowing in Mudgeeraba. I contacted him and met on site late afternoon, to get an idea of the location. Early the next morning I gridded the area and the ring was found within an hour. He was super happy as he was going through some tough issues and losing his ring was another big blow. So great to put a big smile on his face
I had 3 recoveries on at once and it was dark by the time I got to the last one at Currumbin Beach. Not to be deterred, I put on my headlamp and we headed to the spot where they had lost their very expensive engagement ring. They had marked out quite a large area where they had thought it may have been. I turned my detector on and took a few swings to make sure it was working correctly and heard a good signal. As I reached down and pulled out their ring, the husband started jumping up and down and they were both screaming. It would be nice if they were all this easy, but they were so happy as they had to head back to Brisbane.
Had a call out to help find a lady's engagement ring she lost by some trees at Tallebugera Creek. I started gridding the area she was in and found that there was far too much rubbish and it would take forever to find it. So I switched to my special little sniper coil and started back again. After half an hour of digging up lots of rubbish, I could hear a target that sounded good amongst the rubbish noises. Sure enough, up popped her 18ct diamond engagement ring. She was ecstatic as she was flying back to NZ the next day. So great to have her holiday end on a happy note.
I received a distressed call from a lady who had lost her engagement ring at the spit. We met in the car park and I did my usual detective work by questioning her exact movements before she lost it. There was a large area on the beach that she had been at and then she told me she stopped at the outdoor shower to wash off some sand and then back to her car when she discovered her ring was missing. So I asked if she minded if we could check the shower area on the way to the beach. She showed me where she had placed her bags while washing her feet and I carefully gridded this area. 10 minutes later in the grass, a beautiful engagement ring emerged. She cried and hugged me over and over, as she thought it was gone forever and was to get married soon. Such a thrill to help someone from despair to exhilaration.

She had taken the kids to the beach and by the time she got home she noticed her gold ring with a peach sapphire was missing. It was very sentimental so she searched her house and car to no avail. I marked out the area and started to slowly grid it out. Miraculously, my first signal was her beautiful silver and opal ring. She couldn’t stop crying with joy and gratitude. When I took her photo and asked her to smile, she did so, but was still sobbing. She sent me another photo later when she was more composed with a big smile. I really love what I do.
Ruth was doing some gardening, removing dead leaves in her bamboo garden on Bribie Island. She sat down to have a break and took off her gloves; unfortunately, she pulled two of her rings off at the same time. She found her wedding band near the back door, but her grandmother's 18k sapphire ring was nowhere to be seen. After days of searching, she asked around if anyone had a metal detector, and someone gave her a copy of the Guardian newspaper's article on Lost Jewellery Recovery. Paul had lost his wedding ring after 53 years when doing some gardening on his wife’s birthday. I received a text from Liam asking if I could help him locate his lost wedding ring at Main Beach. I called him straight away and arranged to meet the next morning before the low tide. He showed me the area where he and his daughter had played, including both wet and dry sand. As it was quite a large area, I started methodically gridding the wet area into the water to take advantage of the low tide first. I then worked my way up into the dry sand up to where he had sat with his family. Still no sign of the ring, so I did a few more lines above where they had sat. He was getting a bit anxious and was walking around the wet sand looking frantically. I heard a good signal so I called him over, and to his delight, I pulled out his beautiful, heavy, gold and diamond custom-made ring. Lost Jewellery Recovery lived up to its name once again.
A British tourist’s teenage daughter was playing in the surf at Rainbow Bay, Gold Coast, when she noticed her ring had come off her finger.
