MICHAEL OLIVER from LOST JEWELLERY RECOVERY Metal Detecting Services 0434 985 992 has received lost ring reports from Fresh water Beach, Bondi Beach, Wattamolla Beach, Redleaf Beach, Chinamans Beach, Coogee Beach, Maroubra Beach, Bronte Beach, Avalon Beach, Manly Beach, Little Bay, Clovelly Beach and Cronulla Beach for lost rings, lost mobile phones and of course lost car keys. Today's report came in from owner Michael who lost his Platinum wedding ring after just 2 years being married, I asked Michael how his wife took the news of the loss of his wedding ring, he said my wife was ok about it. Michael explained he lost his ring while holding his baby in the rock pool and had a choice of dropping his newborn baby to save his wedding ring or hold onto his baby and watch his ring disappear beneath the sand. Michael said I had a few people With masks trying to help find my lost ring for over an hour and our efforts came up empty!! Not to worry Michael, I'll set up my XP Deus ll metal detector now and have your lost ring back on your finger hopefully within the hour. I set up my grid pole today instead of my grid line and decided to do a quick 360 degree search instead of the traditional straight line search, just 3 minutes into the search my Detector rings a T.ID reading into the 70's. It's looking good. I think this could be your ring. I reach down and shovel the sand watching the sand sift through the shovel, I see the glimmer of the ring. I got it!! NO wait this is NOT my ring, said Michael the owner, OOP'S Not to worry Michael this happens all the time, I find someone else’s ring before I find yours. 10 minutes into the search now just on the other side of my grid pole my metal detector is SCREAMING at me, Hey Mick this sounds like your ring mate BUT I could be Wrong. I dig my shovel into the soft sand underwater watching close as the sand sifts through the holes. I see this glimmer of a Platinum wedding ring. BING!! I found it Michael come check this little beauty, is that your ring? MICHAEL OLIVER from LOST JEWELLERY RECOVERY Metal Detecting Services has been finding and reuniting lost wedding rings lost phones and lost car keys all week. Christmas day I was called out to dive for a lost mobile phone lost in a rock pool in Wollongong. Another ring was lost on Coogee Beach Found in just 10 minutes. A lost Engagement Ring on Cronulla Beach in Knee deep water was also reunited with the young newly weds. I just received a call for a lost ring at Bondi Beach on Christmas Eve, the owner was carrying his young child when he was struck by a wave on the shoreline. His wedding ring came off his finger and disappeared into the whitewash he searched frantically when a few locals said, don't worry mate call up Michael Oliver he's (the lord of the rings) he will find it. After receiving the call I was at Bondi beach 20 minutes later, the owner walked me through how he lost his wedding ring, I then reassured him, your ring is here and I will find it for you mate. I first search the gutter, it was not the drop point however the shore break was strong theres a possibility the ring was dragged into it. 20 minutes later no ring in the gutter thats good news I then proceed to set up another 2 grids, the waves are pounding on me as I'm right in the shore break it's important I don't miss an inch, I have to swing my detector with accuracy against the surf or I will miss this ring!! after another 26 minutes I get a Great T.ID reading on my underwater metal detector. I can see it's not exactly a surface target, the owner rushes over asking what he can do to help. I said we have to be patient I cannot just dig it as the surf can smash the ring out of my scoop if I dig it too fast!! I hold my ground patiently waiting between sets of waves, OK now I line it up and start to dig first scoop no ring it is deeper as expected I take another scoop of sand and BINGO as the water pulls the sand from my scoop we see this Beautiful Gold Diamond ring being exposed!! you did it, Michael you found my lost ring. you really are the LORD OF THE LOST RINGS thank you Michael. The Bondi Life Guards come over asking Michael who's ring have you found today mate and the ring you found last week in the surf was inspiring the owners said to say thank you, you are doing great work for the community.
